Throughout the first quarter, the Huskies shot nearly 58% from the field, including a
10-0 run midway through the first period.
However, in the second quarter, the Dawgs were outscored by the Aggies, 18-16.
As we warned in our game preview of this matchup:
On the court, the Aggies are led by #15 Evanne Turner, a junior guard and sharpshooter that finished ninth in Big West scoring last season at 12.6 points per game.
Turner shot 37.6% from three-point range (73 of 194) which led The Big West with 2.6 made three-pointers per game.
This season, so far Turner is shooting 55.6% from three-point range (5 for 9) for UC-Davis.
Other than Evanne Turner, the USC Aggies do not pose much of an outside threat to the Huskies defense.
Despite Turner’s 55.6% 3-point shooting average, the Aggies are only making 30.8% from three-point range.
Somehow, Washington’s defense lost sight of Turner who made four three-pointers and had 14 points by halftime.
At halftime, the Huskies regrouped and made a big push in the third quarter by outscoring the Aggies 21 -11; and powered by a 14-1 run, they had built a 62-43 lead after three periods.
In the fourth quarter, the Dawgs retained their lead and ultimately won 82-60.
Hot-Shooting Huskies
The Huskies shot 50% or better from all areas of the court — hitting 58.5% of their two-pointers and 35.3% of their three-pointers.
Significantly, the Washington Huskies scored 36 points on layups alone.

Dalayah Daniels’ offensive Usage was 18.4% second on team after Haley Van Dyke (19.4%).
That level of offensive involvement for Haley and Dalayah, as the main 1-2 punch of the offense, is a very reasonable and promising scenario for future UW success this PAC-12 season.
