SEATTLE, Wash. – The Washington Huskies women’s basketball program will play their second game of the 2022-23 regular season against the UC-Davis Aggies at Hec Ed on Friday, November 11th at 5 p.m.
The game will be streamed on the Washington Live Stream (GoHuskies.com/Live).
Head coach Tina Langley starts her second season at the helm of the Washington Women’s Basketball program with a victory over Utah Tech last Sunday,
Washington outrebounded Utah Tech 44- 29, as well as shooting 61.9% on two-pointers (26 for 42) and 25% from three-point range (8-32) demonstrating that their inside dominance was the difference in the game.
Expect the Huskies to look to assert their dominance inside against the Aggies on offense and defense.
The UC-Davis Aggies were picked to finish No. 5 in the conference’s Preseason Big West Coaches and Media Polls.
UC-Davis is led by the five-time Big West Coach of the Year Jennifer Gross.
On the court, the Aggies are led by #15 Evanne Turner, a junior guard and sharpshooter finished ninth in Big West scoring last season at 12.6 points per game.
Turner shot 37.6% from three-point range (73 of 194) which led The Big West with 2.6 made three-pointers per game.
This season, so far Turner is shooting 55.6% from three-point range (5 for 9) for UC-Davis.

Other than Evanne Turner, the USC Aggies do not pose much of an outside threat to the Huskies defense.
Despite Turner’s 55.6% 3-point shooting average, the Aggies are only making 30.8% from three-point range.
By far, UC-Davis does most of its scoring inside the paint, hitting 62.5% of their inside shots — by contrast, the Aggies have attempted ZERO mid-range shots.
Here are highlights from UC-Davis’s victory over Bethel this season — notice all the inside scoring.

As we noted in our game recap and analysis of their inauguralvictory, Washington struggled in their Utah Tech victory with:
(…)defending the three-point line as Utah Tech shot 75% (6 for 8) from three point range in the first 10 seconds of their offense.
UW’s transition defense must improve, particularly in finding and putting pressure on opposing three-point shooters.
Most likely, the Huskies will need to prioritize finding and containing Evanne Turner to secure the victory tonight.
If the Dawgs contain Turner and dominate the boards, it should be a decisive win over the Aggies.
