Kaelyn Carroll Arrives: A High-Profile Transfer with Huge Upside
The Huskies took another big swing in the Transfer Portal.
Washington has added former Kentucky Wildcat Kaelyn Carroll, a 6-foot-3 wing who entered college with elite credentials.
Carroll was a five-star recruit, a top-15 caliber prospect in her class, and a 2025 McDonald’s All-American—exactly the kind of talent that can change the post-season potency of a roster.
Carroll played 34 games and logged 403 minutes in her lone season at Kentucky, averaging 3.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
While the raw numbers don’t leap off the page, her playing time in a major conference rotation matters. Moreover, Carroll showed real perimeter potential by hitting 30.9% from three-point range, offering a foundation Washington can build upon with expanded responsibility and a clearer role.
Just as importantly, Carroll gives the Washington Huskies much-needed wing depth.
Kaelyn Carroll is expected to compete for a starting spot as the fifth starter, potentially playing alongside Sayvia Sellers, Avery Howell, Brynn McGaughy, and Tilda Trygger. That competition should elevate practices, tighten rotations, and give Tina Langley more lineup flexibility as matchups change throughout the season.
