Preview: #22 UW WBB Huskies Host San Diego Tritons – Friday Nov. 28th @ 7PM

The #22-ranked Washington Huskies (6-0) host the University of California – San Diego Tritons (3-3) on Friday, November 28th at 7 p.m. on the B1G Plus Network.

Washington Huskies Preview

After a 66-40 home victory over Southern on Tuesday, the undefeated Dawgs aim to extend their undefeated start to the 2025-26 season at home versus the UC San Diego Tritons.

Washington’s offense averages 74.5 points per game; while Washington’s defense holds opponents to 47.0 points per game.

The Huskies offense is highly efficient scoring at the rim (within 4.5 feet) making 64.8% of their shots.

However, Washington is shooting 28.4% from three-point range, well below the Huskies usual standard for a season average (37% last season).

Junior point guardSayvia Sellers scores a team-leading 17.8 points per game; a team-leading 4.0 assists per game; as well as a team-leading 1.8 steals per game.

Sayvia is shooting 31% (9 for 29) from three-point range; while making 67.3% (33 for 49) of her two-point attempts; and converting 80.6% (25 for 31) at the rim within 4.5 feet, as well as 60% farther away in the lane.

6’0″ guardAvery Howell,is the Huskies second leading scorer averaging 10.8 points per game.

Howell is making 33% (9 for 27) from three-point range; and 57% of her two-point attempts.

Avery Howell is also the leading rebounder for the Huskies with 6.8 rebounds per game; and fourth in steals with 1.3 per game.

Finally,senior guard Elle Ladinehas not yet played for the Huskies this season. It is unclear at this time if she will play versus UC San Diego.

UC San Diego Tritons Preview

The UC San Diego Tritons hold a 3-3 record and are coming off of a win over Occidental, 87-39.

San Diego’s offense averages 68.2 points per game; while the Tritons defense allows opponents to score 59.3 points per game.

The Tritons make only 37.3% from the field overall; including 43.8% of their 2-point attempts; and a mere 25% of their three-point attempts.

The Tritons feature three players averaging double figures in scoring.

Sabrina Ma, a 5’10” senior guard, is averaging a team-leading 12.7 points per game; as well as a second-leading 4.5 rebounds per game.

Junior 6″4″ Forward Erin Condron is San Diego’s second-leading scorer at 12.2; also the Tritons’ leading rebounder at 7.0 rebounds per game; as well as the leading shot blocker at 1.3 blocks.

Condron is most effective scoring at the rim within 4.5 feet, converting 82.6%; but only a mere 25% farther out in the lane.

Interestingly, Condron has an effective midrange elbow jumpsuit, making 60% (3 for 5).

Lev Feiman, a 5’9″ freshman guard, is San Diego’s third-leading scorer at 10.2 points per game, while shooting 50% ( 4 for 8) from three-point range and 48% from two-point range.

To secure the victory, the UW Huskies should dominate the San Diego Tritons by:

(1) pushing tempo offensively to take advantage of the Huskies superior guard rotation and roster depth to wear down San Diego’s backcourt scorers, Sabrina Ma and Lev Feiman;

(2) limit the inside-the-lane offensive opportunities of 6″4″ Forward Erin Condron with multiple defenders by using aggressive and physical defensive rotations, while limiting Condron’s offensive rebounding and second chance opportunities;
