A Kelsey Plum Jersey Retirement Ceremony and a sellout home crowd (including Kelsey Plum, Isaiah Thomas, Detlef Schrempf and at least 25 Husky Women’s Basketball alumni in attendance), contributed to an electric Hec Ed atmosphere on Saturday afternoon.
The Washington Huskies (13-6) started hot and cooked the Purdue Boilermakers in a home blowout victory, 87-58.
The Dawgs shot 38.5% from three-point range (5 for 13); 47.4% overall (27 for 57); and 50% on two-point attempts (22 for 44).
UW recorded 42 points in-the-paint versus only 16 by Purdue.
Washington’s defense kept the Purdue offense under wraps most of the game. holding the Boilermakers to 42.9% from the field overall; and 41% on two-point attempts.

Purdue did, however, make eight 3-pointers on 47.1% shooting from three-point range.
Both teams committed 14 turnovers.
UW Player of the Game: Sayviah Sellers
In 32 minutes of playing time, Sayviah Sellers led the Huskies with 24 points by shooting 69.2% from the field overall (9-13); and 62.5% from three-point range (5 for 8).

Sellers also recorded six assists and one rebound.
1st Quarter
In the first period, Washington jumped out with an aggressive 12-2 scoring run.
In the first quarter, the Huskies offense exploded by shooting 61.1% overall (11 of 18) and 40% (4 for 10) from three-point range.
The Huskies were led by Elle Ladine with nine points; Sayvia Sellers with eight points; Dalayah Daniels added 5 points; Hannah Stines added 5 points; and Tayra Eke contributed 3 points.
Meanwhile, Purdue struggled to score 9 points in the quarter, on 30.8% shooting overall (4 for 13) and 50% (1 for 2) from three-point range.
The Huskies held a 18-point lead to end the first period, 27-9.
2nd Quarter
In the second period, the Huskies outscored Boilermakers, 20-16.
Washington shot 53.3% (8-15) from the field overall; and 50% (1 for 2) from three-point range.
Meanwhile, Purdue’s offense struggled — shooting 41.2% (7 for 17) shooting from the field overall; and 28.6% (2 for 7) shooting from three-point range.
The Huskies were led by Dalayah Daniels with seven points; Elle Ladine with four points; Devon Coppinger added three points; and Hannah Stines, Sayvia Sellers, and Tayra Eke added two points each.
Heading into halftime, the Huskies led by 22 points, 47-25.
3rd Quarter
In the third quarter, the Dawgs posted 26 points on 78.6% (11 for 14) shooting overall and 57.1% from three-point range (4 for 7).
Purdue scored 19 points in the third quarter, on 57.1% shooting overall (8 for 14) and 66.7% from three-point range (2-3).
Washington was led in scoring by Elle Ladine’s eight points; Tayra Eke added six points; Sayvia Sellers added five points; Devon Coppinger contributed three points; and Hannah Stines and Dalayah Daniels added two points each.
The Huskies extended their lead to 29 points heading into the final period, 73-44.
4th Quarter
In the final period, the Huskies and Boilermakers scored 14 points each.
The Huskies coasted to victory on 55.6% (5 for 9) shooting overall; and 50% shooting from three-point range (2 for 4).
In the fourth period, Washington was led by Sellers with 9 points; Tayra Eke and Teagan Brown added two points each; and Devon Copppinger added one point.
The Dawgs posted a 87-58 victory in front of a sellout home crowd.
