The Washington Huskies (4-0) notched a fourth straight victory at home by dominating the second half to defeat the Eastern Washington Eagles, 83-59.
The Washington Huskies shot 41.7% from three-point range, making 10 threes (10 for 24).
The Huskies shot 80% within 4.5 feet of the basket(8 for 10); while shooting 56.4% from two-point range; as well as, 50.8% shooting (32 for 63)overall.
In addition, the Dawgs scored 38 points in the paint, added 16 fastbreak points and scored 21 points off the Eagles’ 13 turnovers.
The Huskies defense struggled to contain Eastern Washington in the first half but smothered the Eagles offense in the second half — the Eagles cooled off considerably to finish with 37.5% shooting overall (24 for 64), including 29.4% from three-point range(5 for 17).
1st Quarter
In the first period, the Huskies traded baskets with the Eagles and did not assert themselves defensively.
The Huskies were led by Dalayah Daniels, Sayvia Sellers and Elle Ladine with 3 points each.
Hannah Stines, Tayra Eke, Shayla Gilmer and Teagan Brown added two points each.
In the first quarter, the Huskies shot 40% overall (6 of 15) and 50% (3 for 6) from three-point range.
Meanwhile, the Eagles shot 53.3% overall (8 for 15) and 25% (1 for 4) from three-point range.
2nd Quarter
In the second period, the Washington Huskies and Eagles scoring was identical to the first period, 19 to 17, as the Huskies defense failed to lockdown the Eagles offense.
Eastern Washington shot 60% (3 for 5) from three-point range to keep the contest close.
The Huskies were led by Dalayah Daniels with six points; Sayvia Sellers added four points; Chloe Btiggs added three points; with Elle Ladine, Tayra Eke. and Breann McDonald scoring two points each.
At halftime, the Dawgs held a slim lead over the Eagles, 38-34.
3rd Quarter
In the third quarter, the Huskies came out with a new defensive intensity, led by Sayvia Sellers.
The Eagles were held to 40% shooting overall and 0% shooting from three point range.
The Huskies outscored the Eagles, 25-12.
Washington was led in scoring by Sayvia Sellers with 11 points; Elle Ladine with five points; Devon Coppinger added 3 points; and Hannah Stines, Dalayah Daniels and Breann McDonald added 2 points each.
Washington held a 63-46 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
4th Quarter
In the final period, Washington extended their lead by shooting 42.9% (3 for 7) from three-point range; and shooting 47.1% overall (4 for 17).
In the fourth period, Elle Ladine led the Huskies with seven points; Hannah Stines added five points; Sayvia Sellers and Chloe Briggs added three points each; and Devon Coppinger added two points.

In 27 minutes of playing tome, Sayvia Sellers led the Huskies with 21 points by shooting a blazing 50% from three-point range (2 for 4) and 57.1% in the paint (4 for 7) — she made 53.8% of her shots overall (7 for 13).
Sayvia also recorded a team-leading 5 assists and 4 steals.
