On Thursday, the Washington Huskies (15-13, 5-12 Pac-12) mostly trailed Colorado (21-7, 11-6 Pac-12) the entire game, before surging late in the fourth to make it nail-biter defeat, 68-62.
UW was in striking distance of victory with a 5-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but Colorado held on with free throws down the stretch.
The Huskies shot 45.3% from the field overall, 37.5% from three-point range, and 48.6% on two-point attempts.
Colorado shot 42.3% from the field overall; 40.2% on two-point attempts; and 45% from three-point range (9 for 20).
However, the game featured a lot of turnovers with UW committing 16 turnovers overall versus Colorado’s 17 turnovers
1st Quarter
In the first quarter, it was a 7-7 tie early before Colorado caught fire offensively and built a lead behind 50% shooting from three-point range and a fast paced attack.

Lauren Schwartz led the Huskies in scoring with 6 points on perfect 100% shooting (2 for 2, all from three-point range); followed by Dalayah Daniels and Elle Ladine with two (2) points each.
Colorado held an 18-12 lead after the first quarter.
2nd Quarter
The Colorado Buffaloes outscored the Washington Huskies, 21 to 16, in the second quarter.

In the second period, Sayvia Sellers led the Huskies in scoring with six points; Lauren Schwartz added five (5) points; followed by Dalayah Daniels with three (3) points; and Elle Ladine with two (2) points.
At halftime, the Huskies trailed Colorado 39-28.
3rd Quarter
Early in the third quarter, Colorado built a 15-point lead behind two back-to-back three-pointers which forced UW Head Coach Tina Langley to call a timeout.
The Huskies responded, but were still edged in scoring by Colorado, 20 to 19.

Elle Ladine exploded for nine points in the third period; followed by Dalayah Daniels with six points; and Lauren Schwartz and Sayvia Sellers with two points each.
At the end of the third period, the Huskies trailed Colorado, 47-59.
4th Quarter
in the final period, the Dawgs outscored the Buffaloes, 15 to 9.
Washington rallied with a late 7-0 scoring run in the final period to cut Colorado’s lead to five points with 46 seconds left.
However, Colorado’s Jaylyn Sherrod made two free throws to seal the victory for the Buffaloes.
