The Washington Huskies (3-0) host the winless Seattle Redhawks (0-3) on Saturday, November 18th at 1PM Pacific.

The Huskies should dominate the game with their stellar three-point shooting — they are currently averaging 44.7% accuracy from three-point range (with 11.5 made three-pointers per game).

UW has nine players shooting over 33% from three-point range :

Chloe Briggs (66.7%);
Ari Long (55.6%);
Jayda Noble (50%);
Hannah Stines (50%);
Lauren Schwartz (44.4%);
Elle Ladine (44.4%);
Teagan Brown (42.9%);
Dalayah Daniels (40%); and
Sayvia Sellers (33.3%).
.

Washington’s offense is also very efficient from mid-range and close range, averaging 56.2% on two-pointers.

Overall, 58.9% of the UW Huskies made shots are the result of their 21 assists per game.

Defensively, the Dawgs are holding opponents to only 24.5% shooting from three-point range (ranked 32nd nationally).

The Seattle Redhawks are a very poor three-point shooting team at 26.3% from beyond the arc — expect the Redhawks to struggle mightily from deep against the Huskies defense.

The Redhawks are offensively challenged — averaging 58.7 points per game; while the Huskies average 90.0 points per game — a 42.3 point differential.

Only two Redhawks are averaging double figures in points.

Irena Korolenko is the leading scorer for Seattle U. at 13.0 points per game; and guard Mya Moore averages 10.3 points per game.

Korolenko is an inside-outside scoring threat — averaging 38.5% accuracy from three-point range and 50% on two-point attempts.

Korolenko is most efficient converting 71.4% of her opportunities within 6 feet of the rim.

Korolenko is also Seattle’s leading rebounder grabbing 8.7 boards per game

With zero points behind the arc (0%), Seattle’s Maya Moore is not a three-point shooter.

Moore scores all of her points in the lane, making 44.4% of her shots in the paint and 50% of her shots within 6 feet of the rim.

Defensively, the Huskies should seek to control the lane with shot blocking (contesting all shots inside) and defensive rebounding.

Washington averages 34.7 defensive rebounds per game, which ranks 14th among Division One schools nationally.

The Huskies also average 5.0 blocks per game, which ranks 53rd among Division One schools nationally.

As long as Washington defenders remain aware of the top two Redhawks scoring threats, Korolenko and Moore, the Huskies’ normal defensive effort should stifle the Redhawks’ offense.

Prediction: This should not be a competitive game, expect the Huskies to flirt with scoring 100 points.

Washington may have their largest blowout victory of the nonconference season, as they run past the Redhawks to victory.
