On Wednesday night, the Washington Huskies were unable to get an upset victory on the road at Kansas, losing 61-36 to the Jayhawks — ending their postseason hopes of a WNIT championship.

Game Summary
As we indicated in our game preview, in order for Washington to secure a victory at Kansas they needed to limit their turnovers, thus limiting the Jayhawks’ ability to score points-off-turnovers.
Unfortunately, Washington struggled mightily with ball security, as Washington committed 21 turnovers leading to 24 points-off-turnovers by Kansas.
Likewise, Washington needed to dominate Kansas in-the-paint offensively, however, the Huskies only shot 40% on layup attempts (12-30).
These were the two main factors that led to Washington’s demise at Kansas and brought their postseason hopes to an end.
