On Sunday, in a WNIT “Great 8” contest, the Washington Huskies (19-14) played bad host to the Oregon Ducks (20-15), as the Dawgs pulled away late for a home victory, 63-59.
Game Summary
1st Quarter
Oregon outscored Washington 21-13 in the first period.
The Huskies struggled offensively, shooting only 29.4% overall and 0.0% from three-point range.
Dalayah Daniels almost singlehandedly kept the Huskies in the game by scoring 7 points and 4 rebounds.
However, Elle Ladine made a significant contribution by coming off the bench early to help stabilize the Huskies with her ball-handling; as well as, adding 1 point, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 7 minutes.
2nd Quarter
UW rallied in the second quarter to outscore the Ducks, 17-8.
The Huskies went on a 7-0 run to cut Oregon’s lead to 21-20.
Washington shot 37.7% overall and 20% from deep (1 for 5) in the second period.
The Huskies were led by Lauren Schwartz’s 7 points, however, Elle Ladine continued to make an essential contribution with 2 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds in 6 minutes.
3rd Quarter
Elle Ladine stepped to the front of the pack to lead the Dawgs in the third quarter.

Ladine scored a team-leading 9 points (4 for 6 overall; 1 for 2 from three-point range) on a array of shots that showed her full offensive arsenal.

UW went on 9-0 run to build a 41-35 lead in the third period.
Overall, the Huskies outscored the Ducks, 18-12, in the third period and finished the quarter with a 7-point lead, 48-41.

4th Quarter
The Huskies entered the final period knowing they needed to defend their 7-point lead from a late Oregon offensive surge.
The Ducks outscored UW in the final period, 18 -15, with much damage coming from shooting 40% from three-point range (4 for 10).
. Although the Huskies shot 0.0% from three-point range and only 35.3% overall, UW did enough to hold on to their lead and win by 4 points, 63-59.
Haley Van Dyke scored a team-leading 6 points in the final period.
Once again, Elle Ladine made a significant contribution with 4 points plus 3 rebounds and one assist in 7 minutes.
