On Saturday, the Washington Huskies (15-13, 7-11 Pac-12) were in a mostly seesaw battle with the UCLA (22-8, 11-7 Pac-12), before losing the battle 70-62.
Ultimately, the Bruins pulled away from the Huskies in the fourth quarter behind an offensive explosion from senior All-Pac-12 guard Charisma Osborne .
However, UW also lacked ball security, committing 17 turnovers overall; meanwhile, UCLA only committed eight).
1st Quarter
Dalayah Daniels scored the first basket of the game but the Bruins responded with six straight points to take an early 6-2 lead over the Huskies.

But the Dawgs managed to settle down and get back into the game behind Haley Van Dyke’s five points; as well as four points, two rebounds and one block by Dalayah Daniels.

At the end of the first period, UCLA led UW 16-13
2nd Quarter
In the second quarter, UW stayed aggressive, holding their own in a very back-and-forth second period.

Freshman guard Hannah Stines came off the bench to spark the Huskies with a team-leading 6 points in the second period behind her two made three-pointers.

Senior Darcy Rees came off the bench to contribute 4 points (2 for 2) and one rebound in only four minutes.
Freshman Elle Ladine also added a three-pointer (1 for 2) to contribute three points to the Huskies’ second period effort.

The Huskies scored 21 points to outscore UCLA by four points in the quarter, 21-17.
At halftime, UW led the Bruins by one point, 34-33.
3rd Quarter
The third quarter began with UCLA locking down Washington with an inspired defensive effort that held the Dawgs to 25% (3 for 12) shooting overall in the third period — although, UW did manage to shoot 40% (2 for 5) from three-point range .
The Huskies meager offensive production was buoyed by Haley Van Dyke’s 5 points and Elle Ladine’s three points — Lauren Schwartz (2 points) was the UW’s lone other scorer in the third period.

At the end of the third quarter, the Huskies were down 9 points to the Bruins, 37-28 — UCLA outscored UW, 18 -10, in the third period.
4th Quarter
In the fourth quarter the Huskies were ambushed by the stellar play of UCLA’s senior guard Charisma Osborne.
The projected first-round WNBA pick went into “sicko mode” offensively, she scored 11 of UCLA’s 19 points in the fourth period on 83% shooting (5 for 6).
UW had another big quarter offensively posting 18 points in the final period.

However, Osborne was too much for the Washington defense.
Meanwhile, the Huskies committed 5 turnovers in the fourth period and essentially sealed their own fate.
Game Summary
For the game, the Huskies shot 39.2% overall with UW shooting a whopping 18 three-pointers, yet making 8 threes for an unexpected 44.4% shooting form three-point range.
