The Washington Huskies (11-9 overall, 3-7 PAC) held on to defeat the Arizona State Sun Devils (7-13, 0-9 PAC), 55-53, and snapped a three-game losing streak
For most of the game, both teams struggled shooting from the field — in the first half, UW shot 40.0% overall from the field and ASU shot 36.7% from the field.
However, the difference was the Washington Huskies became increasingly efficient scoring inside-the-paint as the game progressed — Washington scored 28 points-in-the-paint in the second half alone.
Ultimately, for the game, UW shot 58.3% in the lane and 62.5% at the rim.

Haley van Dyke and Dalayah Daniels paced UW with four points each in the first quarter.
But at the end of the first period, the Sun Devils led the Huskies, 19-14 — and the Sun Devils would continue to lead the Dawgs in the first half.
In the second quarter, Washington’s offense struggled, scoring only five points in the first five minute — as the Sun Devils went on a 7-0 scoring run.
UW’s lowing scoring continued with only another five points in the last five minutes of the second period.
The Huskies’ total of 10 points in the second period was lowest any PAC-12 team had scored against ASU in conference play this season.
At the half, Arizona State led Washington, 28-24.
To start the third period, the Huskies answered a Sun Devil’s three-pointer by going on a 6-0 run, to pull within one point of ASU.
Washington’s offense began to click as the Huskies shot 56.3% from the field, multiple time on backdoor cuts leading to layups.
The Washington Huskies outscored Arizona State, 19-10, in the third period to take a 43-38 lead.
The fourth quarter began with four straight made shots by ASU leading scorer, Tyi Skinner.
ASU tied the game at 47-47 and seized the lead, 49-47, with 5:30 minutes left in the game.
However, the Huskies did not fold under pressure, instead UW responded with a 6-0 scoring run to regain the lead, 53-49 with 2:32 left on the clock.
Arizona State pulled within two points, 53-51, but the Huskies’ Dalayah Daniels made a thread-the-needle pass to Hannah Stines for a layup to put UW up, 55-51.

ASU pulled back within two pints on a layup with 42 seconds remaining, but the Sun Devils missed a final shot at the buzzer to force overtime.

Washington freshman guard Hannah Stines shot 100% from the field (5-5), all from inside the lane.
Huskies guard Elle Ladine scored seven points on 66.7% shooting from two-point range and 50% from three-point range along with 1 rebound, 1 assist (and 1 turnover).

UW WBB Huskies Player of the Game – Dalayah Daniels
Dalayah Daniels scored 14 points on 58.3% shooting from the field (all from two-point range); along with eight rebounds 4 assists (an excellent performance, despite four turnovers and zero free throw attempts).
Daniels shot 71.4% (5 for 7) within 4.5 feet of the rim and 66.7% (2 for 3) farther away in the lane.
