On Sunday, the Washington Huskies ( 10-5, 2-4 PAC) went to Corvallis and jumped the Oregon State Beavers(10-8, 2-3 PAC) from the opening tip, winning 79-67.
The unusually hot-shooting Dawgs looked ready from the start – making their first nine shots of the game from all over the court.
UW jumped to a 20-10 lead early in the first period, and behind baskets by Haley Van Dyke, Lauren Schwartz, Dalayah Daniels and Hannah Stiles pushed the lead to 29-23 at the end of the first period.

The Washington Huskies continued their dominance in the second quarter, outscoring the OSU Beavers 20 points to 6.
The Dawgs began.the second period with an 8-0 run building their lead to 37-23, and forcing a timeout by the Beavers.
Even Emma Grothaus contributed with two three-pointers in the second period.

At the half, Washington led Oregon State, 49-29, behind scorching shooting numbers — 65.5% overall and 63.6% from three-point range.

In the third period, the Beavers managed to outscore the Huskies albeit by only one point, 17 to16 — but UW still led by 19 points, 65-46, heading into the fourth quarter.
The final period saw the Beavers stage a furious and desperate comeback against the Huskies.
Oregon State cut the Huskies lead to 15 points early in the fourth quarter behind a 6-0 scoring run.
Washington native Talia Von Oelhoffen hit two three-pointers for the Beavers to cut the Huskies lead to eight points with 1:08 to go.
OSU missed multiple three-pointers down the stretch and the Huskies hit their free throws to seal the upset victory.
For the game, Washington shot 56.1% overall from two-point range and 53.8% from three-point range.

UW Huskies Player of the Game – Hannah Stines
Freshman guard Hannah Stines had her best performance as a Husky and made many clutch assists and baskets that had the Beavers on their heels.
In the first half explosion by the Dawgs, Stines was a major catalyst, scoring 10 points with two assists and one rebound.
Stines finished the game with a career high 17 points, as well as a career high five assists and three rebounds.
Stines already in double digits!
