The Washington Huskies jumped to an early lead against the Queens (N.C.) Royals in the first quarter; then decisively pulled away in the second half to secure a 54 – 28 blowout victory.
The UW Huskies held the Royals to 20 total points, their lowest opponent total allowed since 2010.
However, Washington also scored its lowest point total of the year with only 58 points.
No Huskies scored in double figures for the game; UW’s scoring leaders were freshman Hannah Stines (9 points on 80% shooting); senior TT Watkins (8 points on 57% shooting) and freshman Teagan Brown (8 points on 50% shooting).

UW’s offense demonstrated good ball movement throughout the game.
The Dawgs assisted on 68.8% of their two-pointers.
And Washington assisted on 100% of their three-pointers; and on 75% of the Huskies’ points scored at the rim (within 4.5 feet).
Conversely, the Huskies’ defense held the Queens Royals to zero assisted baskets for the game.
Washington held the Royals to 20% from three-point range and 21.7% on two-pointers.

The Huskies jumped out to a quick lead in the first quarter, as UW went on a 10-0 scoring run to lead 12-2.

At the end of the first period, UW led 18 -7, after shooting 53.3% overall and 0% from three-point range.
The Dawgs seemed to lose their focus on defense in the second period and were outscored by the Queens Royals in the second period, 13-10 — the Huskies’ offense struggled shooting only 30.8% overall and 0% on three-pointers.
However, at halftime, UW still led by eight points, 28 -20.
In the third period, Washington smacked Queens outscoring them 14 -4, despite UW’s offense shooting only 35.7% overall and 16.7% from three-point range.
At the end of three periods, Washington had built an 18 point lead, 42 – 24.
The fourth quarter was more of the same, UW outscored Queens 12-4.
In the final period, the Dawgs shot only 30.8% overall but raised their three-point shooting average to 40% (4 for 10) behind made threes by Teagan Brown ( 2 for 4); Shayla Gillmer (1 for 2) and Emma Grothaus (1 for 1).
