Sources close to Washington Huskies freshman wing,
Marisa Davis-Jones, confirmed with UDUBWBB.com that she entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday, March 7th.
Davis-Jones decommitted from Duke to sign with ex-Huskies head coach Jody Wynn’s #17-ranked recruiting class of 2021.
Davis-Jones was ranked #76 among all prospects in her class by the 2021 ESPN TOP 100 by Premier Basketball; as well as, #12 at the wing position.
A versatile, athletic 6’2″ wing with 3-point range, Davis-Jones was named the 2021 Gatorade Arizona State Player of the Year, after an illustrious high school career in which she won three Arizona basketball state high school championships in four years.
As we documented earlier in the season, Jones-Davis was not receiving significant playing time from Head Coach Tina Langley.
Despite her numerous well-earned accolades, Marisa Davis-Jones played 10 minutes overall for Washington; including a mere 2 minutes of PAC-12 play.
Unfortunately, this was another transfer decision that was no surprise.
Davis-Jones is the second player from the 2021 recruiting class to leave Washington in the past week (after the recent transfer decision of another former Duke commit, Olivia Pollerd).
We thank Marisa Davis-Jones for her contributions to the Washington Huskies Women’s Basketball program and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
Stay tuned…
