Yesterday, when the dust cleared on Signing Day, Coach Tina Langley’s first recruiting class at Washington featured three high school seniors ranked in the top 100 of 2022 prospects by ESPN.
The individual players are currently ranked as follows: 5’10 guard Hannah Stines (40th overall/4-star); 5’11” guard Elle Ladine (53rd overall/4-star); and 5’10” guard Teagan Brown (79th overall/4-star).
PLAYER OVERVIEW
Hannah Stines is a smooth scorer from all three levels.
Stines displays the ability to consistently score off-the-dribble — whether off of quick pull-ups or step backs from beyond the three-point line.
When driving to the basket, Stines shows the ability to finish strong with either hand, while absorbing contact from the defender.
Stines is most impressive in her ability to stay under control while probing the defense with her dribble, showing great basketball IQ in her shot selection and playmaking.
Elle Ladine is an energetic player on both offense and defense, demonstrating an impressive competitive intensity.
Ladine is an aggressive slasher on offense, exploding past defenders to get to the lane.
Elle Ladine also demonstrates the ability to step out and hit the three from deep.
Ladine is sure to be a crowd favorite for the energy she brings to the game.
Teagan Brown is a long-limbed point guard with solid ball-handling skills; as well as, an exceptional basketball IQ to make the right basketball decision for herself and her teammates.
Teagan Brown is an intense competitor on both the offensive and defensive ends.
Brown displays the ability to penetrate into the lane against defensive pressure.
Teagan Brown also demonstrates the ability to aggressively defend guards on the perimeter, which will be crucial to her success against PAC-12 guards.
Signing a highly rated recruiting class for 2022, particularly in such a short time, is a big accomplishment for Coach Langley and her entire coaching staff — securing a super recruiting class of this type takes tremendous skill and hard work.
These three players present a talent boost to the UW WBB program.
There is no doubt that Coach Langley’s Washington Women’s Basketball program has taken huge strides in a very short time.
