Guard Avery Van Sickle Reconfirms Her 2021 Commitment to UW WBB: “I’m staying for sure”

Avery Van Sickle — a 5’11’ sharp-shooting guard from Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado — has informed UDUBWBB.com that she is firmly committed to the University of Washington Women’s basketball program and new head coach Tina Langley.

Van Sickle stated, “I’m staying for sure.”

Van Sickle is part of a stellar 2021 recruiting class signed by former Washington head coach Jody Wynn.

Avery Van Sickle initially committed in March 2020 and was the first member of her class to commit to UW WBB.

After the March 15, 2021 firing of Jody Wynn, UDUBWBB.com reported that all of the 2021 recruits (not including early enrollee Jess Finney) indicated they would “wait & see” who would be hired as the new UW WBB coach — before making a final decision regarding their commitment to the University Washington.

Keeping the 2021 recruiting class must be a high priority for Washington’s new head coach Tina Langley and this is a good early development on that front.
