The following infographic is a ranking of the current top individual Huskies defenders in several defensive categories.
These rankings are based on defensive statistics that are current as of the Washington Huskies Women’s basketball game played on February 2, 2020, when UW hosted California.
Despite a recent run of close games in which the Huskies were unabe to secure the victory, the Huskies elite defense continues to keep them in games, even against nationally ranked opponents.
Washington’s defense is currently ranked #42 in the nation by HerHoopStats.com.
UW’s halfcourt defense is also ranked in the 91st percentile of all Division One programs by Synergy Stats, allowing only 0.672 points per possession.
The Huskies have multiple players defending at a high level and that is what makes Coach Wynn’s defense so formidable.
