Arizona Player of the Year Marisa Davis Reconfirms Her 2021 Commitment to UW WBB: “I’m staying!”

Marisa Davis-Jones — a 6’1″ athletic wing with 3-point range — has informed UDUBWBB.com that she is firmly committed to the University of Washington Women’s basketball program and new head coach Tina Langley.

Davis, the 2020-2021 MaxPreps Arizona Player of the Year, stated, “I’m staying as well!”

Along with Avery Van Sickle, Davis makes the second 2021 recruit to re-commit to the UW WBB program under the new leadership of head coach Tina Langley.

Marisa Davis-Jones is part of a stellar 2021 recruiting class signed by former Washington head coach Jody Wynn.

Davis initially committed in August 2020 after decommitting to Duke University after a coaching change.

After the March 15, 2021 firing of Jody Wynn, UDUBWBB.com reported that all of the 2021 recruits (not including early enrollee Jess Finney) indicated they would “wait & see” who would be hired as the new UW WBB coach — before making a final decision regarding their commitment to the University Washington.

Keeping the 2021 recruiting class must be a high priority for Washington’s new head coach Tina Langley and this is a good early development on that front.
