TRANSFER PORTAL: UW WBB Huskies Land Tilda Trygger, 6’6″ High Impact Forward Signs to Washington

On Saturday afternoon, the Washington Huskies announced they had just secured one of the most impactful transfer additions of the portal cycle — and it couldn’t come at a better time.

Tilda Trygger, the 6’6″ Swedish forward from NC State, is officially heading to Montlake, giving the Huskies exactly what they’ve been looking to add: more size, efficiency, and modern versatility in the paint.

For a program that spent the 2025–26 season battling through interior scoring droughts and rebounding gaps, Trygger’s arrival is more than a roster upgrade — it’s a foundational shift. Tilda Tryyger brings 10.6 points per game, 7 rebounds on 57.6% shooting on twos, and 33.9% accuracy from three plus more rim protection for a Washington defense that desperately needs it, averaging over a block per game. Her ability to run the floor, finish in transition, and stretch defenses fits seamlessly into Tina Langley’s pace‑and‑space system.

But the real excitement comes from imagining Trygger alongside rising star forward Brynn McGaughy. Washington has long needed a complementary frontcourt partner who can alternate between anchoring the paint and spacing the floor. Trygger checks every box. Her presence frees McGaughy to operate in the mid‑range and beyond, where she’s at her most dangerous, while also opening driving lanes for Sayvia Sellers and clean perimeter looks for Avery Howell.

This is the kind of addition that changes Washington’s ceiling — not in two years, but right now. With Trygger in the fold, the Huskies suddenly have the size, skill, and balance to compete with the Big Ten’s elite and make a deeper run in March.

The Dawgs needed another high‑impact frontcourt piece. They got one in Tilda Tryyger.
