The Washington Huskies (15-12, 6-9 B1G) started fast and overwhelmed the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (10 -17, B1G 2-14) in a Thursday night home blowout victory, 83-65.
The Dawgs shot a scorching 48% from three-point range (12 for 25); 61.4% overall (35 for 57); and 71.9% on two-point attempts (23 for 32).
Washington’s defense held the Rutgers offense to 42.6% from the field overall; however, Rutgers shot 50% from mid-range areas and 37.5% on three-point attempts (6 for 16).
UW recorded 24 assists versus only 10 by Rutgers.
Washington committed 19 turnovers versus 10 turnovers by Rutgers.
UW Player of the Game: Elle Ladine
In 35 minutes of playing time, Elle Ladine led the Huskies with 28 points by shooting 64.7% from the field overall (11-17); 66.7% from three-point range (6 for 9); and 62.5% (5 for 8) on two-point attempts..

Ladine also recorded seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

1st Quarter
In the first period, Washington jumped out aggressively with two straight three-pointers; followed by a mid-quarter 8-0 run for a 14-6 lead.
In the first quarter, the Huskies offense shot 55.6% overall (10 of 18) and 40% (4 for 10) from three-point range.
The Huskies were led by Elle Ladine with 11 points; Dalayah Daniels added 6 points; Hannah Stines added 3 points; and Chloe Briggs and Teagan Brown contributed 2 points each.
Meanwhile, Rutgers struggled offensively, shooting 35.3% shooting overall and 25% (1 for 4) from three-point range.
The Huskies held a 24-17 lead to end the first period.

2nd Quarter
In the second period, the Huskies outscored Rutgers, 18-14.
Washington shot 57.1% (8-14) from the field overall; and 40% (2 for 5) from three-point range.
Meanwhile, Rutgers’ offense struggled — shooting 37.5% (6 for 16) shooting from the field overall; along with 50% (1 or 2) shooting from three-point range.
The Huskies were led by Elle Ladine with five points; Hannah Stines with four points; Sayvia Sellers with three points; and Dalayah Daniels, Devon Coppinger and Tegan Brown added two points each.
Heading into halftime, the Huskies led by 11 points, 42-31.

3rd Quarter
In the third quarter, the Dawgs posted 20 points on 64.3% (9 for 14) shooting overall and 50% from three-point range (2 for 4).
Rutgers was held to 15 points in the third quarter, on 46.7% shooting overall (7 for 15) and 25% from three-point range (1 for 4).
Washington was led in scoring by Elle Ladine, Hannah Stines and Dalayah Daniels with six points each; and Brenna McDonald added two points.
The Huskies extended their lead to 16 points heading into the final period, 62-46.

4th Quarter
In the final period, the Huskies outscored Rutgers, 21 to 19.
The Huskies coasted to victory on 72.7% (8 for 11) shooting overall; and 66.7% shooting from three-point range (4 for 6).
In the fourth period, Washington was led by Dalayah Daniels with 8 points; Elle Ladine with six points; Sayvia Sellers added four points; and Hannah Stines added three points.
The Dawgs posted a 83-65 victory in front of a their home crowd.
