The Washington Huskies (13-11, 3-10 PAC) suffered a 73-66 double overtime loss at Arizona State (11-14, 3-10 PAC).
The Huskies held a 14-point lead in the second half, then wilted in the desert as the Sun Devils came from behind to force overtime — ultimately, winning comfortably in double overtime.
Poor shooting and poor defense in the second half and overtime periods cost the Huskies the victory on Friday night.
The Huskies shot 32.9% from the field overall, making 20.6% accuracy from three-point range (7 for 34), and managed a mediocre 42.2% on two-point attempts(19 for 45).
Although Arizona State guard Jalyn Brown (who torched the Huskies with 34 points at Hec Ed two weeks ago) was scoreless in the first half, she scored all 16 of her points in the second half and overtime.
Overall, ASU shot only 38.5% from the field, including 42.9% from two-point range and 20% from three-point range.
However, Washington’s defense was mostly ineffective inside as ASU scored 42 points-in-the-paint.
Likewise, defensive rebounds were not the expected advantage for the Huskies with Washington grabbing 37 rebounds versus 41 defensive rebounds for ASU.

1st Quarter
Despite the Huskies shooting only 22.2% overall and 10.0% from the three-point range, UW led ASU 11-9 at the end of the first period, as both teams struggled mightily.
ASU shot 20% (4 for 20) overall and 0% from three-point range (0 for 3).

Washington was led by Dalayah Daniels with three (3) points; Elle Ladine with three (3) points; and two (2) points each by Lauren Schwartz and Sayvia Sellers.

The Huskies outscored the Sun Devils, 13-6, in the second period.

Washington shot 50% overall (6-12) and 0% from three-point range (0-4) in the second quarter — with three turnovers.
Meanwhile, ASU shot 14.3% (2 for 14) overall and 0% (0 for 3) from three-point range — with one turnover.
Hannah Stines led the Huskies in the second period with 6 points; followed by Elle Ladine and Dalayah Daniels with 5 points each.
The Huskies went into halftime with a 25-15 lead over the Sun Devils.
3rd Quarter
In the third period, UW edged ASU in scoring, 14-13.
Washington struggled offensively as ASU surged– UW shot 37.5% (6-16) from the field overall versus 57.1% (8-14) by ASU.

UW was led in scoring by Lauren Schwartz with 6 points and Chloe Briggs with 4 points.
Washington clung to a 39-32 lead heading into the 4th quarter.
4th Quarter
In the fourth period, UW continued to struggle offensively — shootng 21.1% (4 for 19) from the field overall and 25% (2 for 8) from three-point range.
Meanwhile, ASU shot 50% overall (7 for 14); 50% (2 for 4) from three-point range; and 100% from the free throw line (2 for 2).
ASU oustcored UW, 18-11, tying the score at the end of regulation, 50-50.
In the fourth period, Hannah Stines, Elle Ladine and Chloe Briggs led Washington with 3 points each.
First Overtime
In the first overtime, the Huskies struggled early scoring only five points in the first three minutes.
Washington’s Lauren Schwartz scored a layup on an inbounds play to send the game into a second overtime, tied 60-60.
