The Washington Huskies (13-7, 3-6 PAC) suffered a blowout loss, 62-44, at home to Utah (16-6 , 6-4 PAC).
A late fourth quarter scoring drought ended the Huskies all hopes of a Huskies upset of the #20-ranked Utah Utes on Friday night — the Huskies went scoreless the last 2 minutes and 24 seconds of the game.
The Huskies shot 40.7% from the field overall, 31.8% from three-point range, and 45.9% on two-point attempts (17 for 37).
With 83 points, it was business as usual for Utah, who came into the contest averaging 82.4 points per game.
Utah put on a clinic of offensive efficiency — shooting 64.7% from the field overall; 45% from three-point range; and 77.4% from inside the lane (including 81.8% within 4.5 feet of the rim).
Although, the Huskies actually committed less turnovers than the Utes (8 UW turnovers versus Utah’s 15); scored more points off turnovers (22 points by UW versus 10 points by Utah); and Huskies defenders forced 10 steals versus three steals by the Utes — the efficiency of Utah’s offense was overwhelming.
Utah had 25 assisted shots versus only 11 by the Huskies; and scored 48 points-in-the-paint versus 28 by the Huskies.
UW WBB Player of the Game: Hannah Stines
Hannah Stines led Washington with 24 points (9 for 14); along with 3 rebounds and 2 steals in 40 minutes.
