UW WBB Huskies Freshman Jess Finney Enters Transfer Portal

Jess Finney confirmed with UDUBWBB.com that she entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Finney was ranked #94 among all prospects in her class by the 2021 ESPN TOP 100 by Premier Basketball; as well as, #39 at the guard position.

A 6’0″ versatile guard (from PHH Prep in Phoenix, AZ) with the ability to shoot three-pointers (off-the-dribble or catch-and-shoot), that can also play like a classic point guard.

Finney was an early enrollee at Washington, leaving Phoenix Prep early and moving to Seattle in late December to begin her college career. Jess played 119 minutes for former UW coach Jody Wynn during the “COVID season.”

As we documented earlier in the season, Finney did not receive significant playing time from UW Head Coach Tina Langley.

Overall, Jess Finney played 16 minutes for Washington; including just 4 minutes of PAC-12 play.

Unfortunately, this transfer decision by the final member of the 2021 recruiting class was no surprise.

Finney is the third player from the 2021 recruiting class to leave Washington in the past week (after the recent transfer decision of two former Duke commits, Olivia Pollerd and Marisa Davis-Jones.
